Bond Clothing Stores, which operated from 1914 to 1982, put up a sign above its Times Square location in 1948.  The sign featured two 7-story nude figures, male and female, and a 132-foot wide, 27-foot tall waterfall. Here we see the Artkraft Strauss sign company working on the pectoral section of the female figure, and a crowd of men gathered to observe. Complaints about the indecency of the figures resulted in modesty cloths being draped across their chests, eventually followed by gold neon robes.
